Customer Review: Not as expected
This Binocular is useful between 10-15x but after that the image quality will come done too much, also it has shaded exit pupil due to improper prism material, which in turns will decrease light coming inside, and since the coating is only fully the brightness will not be maximized, and after 20x hardly you can enjoy the image. Comparing with skymaster 10x-70 , I recommend the skymaster one which is lower in price higher in quality and it has multicoated lenses, and no shaded exit pupil, but not zoomed one . Buy from here…

Birds of Lane County, Oregon

Customer Review: Birding Lane County
I’ve started to spend the summers in Eugene, Oregon to escape the heat in the Phoenix area. Eugene is in Lane County and this book is invaluable to plan birding trips from Eugene. It lists all the birding spots in the county and tells you what to expect at the different times of the year. It’s a wonderful, well done book. Buy from here…

The Birdwatchers

November 18, 2008

A grandfather shares with his grandchild the quiet wonder of birdwatching - and a wry talent for telling a tall tale.

“When I go birdwatching, things happen,” Granddad tells little Jess. Sometimes, he says, while he’s drawing pictures of the birds, they draw
pictures of him. And sometimes they help him out by finding their own names in his bird book. “Birds are amazing,” says Granddad, but Jess isn’t so sure. So one day she goes birdwatching with Granddad to see for herself.

With expressive line-and-wash drawings, Simon James captures the leafy grandeur of the outdoors and the warm, special rapport between a child and a granddad, illustrating once again the huge happiness to be found in little things.
Customer Review: Toddler’s Favorite
I got this book for my older son who loves all sorts of animals. He quite enjoyed it but I was quite surprised when my little 18 month baby wanted to read it too. True, she loves birds. She loves to go down to the park close to our house and feed `duckies’. When there are birds in our backyard she’ll point through the back window at them, until I look, saying all the while, `bir, bir’. Just a couple of days ago she took the book out of our little-person’s book section, walked over to my wife, took the book that she was reading out of her hands and put “Birdwatchers” into her hands. She then crawled up the couch and sat herself down in my wife’s lap, waiting for her to start reading the story. My son liked the last page of the book, but my little girl will look on each page for any little birds that are there. It is quite a good book for any bird loving child’s library or adult too for that matter.
Customer Review: The Joys of Birdwatching…..
“My granddad is a birdwatcher. He tells me birdwatching stories. He always says, “Jess, when I go birdwatching, things happen…” And our little narrator is intrigued with his tales. Sometimes, he tells her that when he makes drawings of the birds, they make drawings of him. The birds often help him find their names in his bird book, and they got all together early one morning and recorded the “dawn chorus.” Granddad’s stories are so fun and amazing that finally little Jess has to find out for herself. So one morning she goes birdwatching with her grandfather….. Simon James’ gentle and engaging story is heartwarming, and complemented by playful and inviting illustrations is warm earthtones. Perfect for youngsters 4-8, The Birdwatchers is a captivating gem, with a humorous, surprise ending that you don’t want to miss. Remember, when you go birdwatching, things happen… Buy from here…

Customer Review: Every home with kids needs a bird guide
As long as I can remember, I’ve had a bird guide in my home. There seems to be opportunities all year to spot birds on the feeders in the back yard and look them up to learn more about them. My kids just love looking them up and recognizing them by name. My guide was so well used and getting out of date, I search for a replacement. I’m well satisfied with this guide, especially the color. This guide is also easy to use and locate birds we see all the time.
Customer Review: Beautiful
I have purchased this book several times. I keep leaving it outside, then give it away when it’s been wet. I would love to have a bigger, hard bound copy, but I would probably leave that out too. I have another guide, but for the life of me can’t figure out how the map works. This map is clearly explained right away. The illustrations are beautiful. My recommendation is to buy 2 copies so you won’t get too upset when you leave one outside overnight. Buy from here…

Customer Review: The best just got better!
This has always been the reliable and preferred reference for my wife and I. We have worn out two of the paperback version over many years of use. Now, with the revised arrangement of the book it is even easier to use and may cause it to wear out prematurely due to overuse. I might have to buy another so we can both refer to our own copy at the same time.
Customer Review: Field Guide To Western Birds

The book is excellent in most respect. But like all of these types it doesn’t provide much help in actually identifying a bird. You can’t go from “small-brown-stripes on side-purple head-green feet-S. Az area to Pages xxx & xxx for the types. Buy from here…
