Customer Review: Good but not good with zoom
This is good binocular but donot use for the zoom. Zoom is not good. It is enough powerful with 20x.
Customer Review: Tripod a must!
Nice quality binocs but… With magnification this high the movement is also magnified extremely as well. Anything over the base power requires a tripod which takes away from the portability. A 25mm objective lense with this high of a magnification is like looking through a straw; NO field of view. If you want this much zoom, stick with a spotting scope (still need a tripod). Season at the Point: The Birds and Birders of Cape May
March 27, 2008
Customer Review: Easy reading! Hard to put down!
Jack does a wonderful job in “Season at the Point.” Even for those who have never birded at Cape May, the book is truly entertaining and informative. The book was very easy to read, and Jack’s descriptions are very detailed. Even if you live far away from Cape May Point, this a great book to own. It is astounding to read about the number and variety of birds seen at this spot over the years. The commentary on the characters that frequent CMBO is great! Jack was one of my college professors and was so knowledgeable on birds that I decided to purchase his book. What a great investment! Thanks, Jack.- Anthony J. Chodan
Customer Review: A gentle, yet high-impact book
This is a book of many moods, and all of them well-written. It is, by turns, a giggle-provoking acocunt of the eccentricities of those strange folks who watch birds, a warmly nostalgic portrait of the Cape May that once was, a fascinating account of the on-the-spot naturalism that goes on during migrations, and a compelling call for action to preserve the remaining natural beauty of this unique point in the otherwise wasted state of New Jersey. Though it is definitely a sedate read, it is a pleasant one. Buy from here…

City Hawk: The Story of Pale Male
March 27, 2008
New York City is known for its sky-scrapers, subways, and hustle and bustle — not for its wildlife. So everyone is surprised when a red-tailed hawk is spotted flying over Fifth Avenue, and even more surprised when he decides to settle down on the ledge of one of the Big Apple’s swankiest apartment buildings.
The hawk soon draws many admirers. They name him Pale Male and watch as he builds his nest, finds a mate, and teaches his little hawk babies to fly.
Based on the true story of Pale Male, City Hawk brings New York City’s favorite hawk to life in a story of family, perseverance, and big-city living.
Customer Review: childrens book

Customer Review: A must-read for any resident of New York City
City Hawk is a wonderful story about a real-life red-tailed hawk that decides to make New York City his home. The illustrations are charming and give an accurate picture of what life for a city hawk is really like. This book will appeal to both children and adults, especially those who live in New York and want to know more about their fellow resident, Pale Male. Buy from here…
Florida’s Birds: A Handbook and Reference
March 27, 2008
Customer Review: Florida’s Birds
I bought this for my husband, who uses it all the time. Whenever we have a new bird come to the yard he gets the book out to see what it is. It is very helpful.
Customer Review: Useful Guide for Florida
Identifies the major habitats in Florida such as sand pine scrub, mesic hammocks, salt marshes, etc. Features include about 50 pages with color artwork showing the birds (grouped by type). The adjacent page gives a brief description plus notes on preferred habitat, then refers the reader to another page for more detail on the bird.
Pluses: charts the months the bird is in Florida and also the breeding season, makes an effort to explain key differences in similar looking birds, the index is set up with little boxes so it can be used as a checklist also.
Minuses: pictures somewhat small and at times overcrowded (ducks), it’s a nuisance to flip back and forth from the pictures to the detailed write ups. Buy from here…
